Congratulations to Phoebe T. of Maryland, winner of the handmade Bear Paw quilt!! The grand total raised in the Kratt Club raffle was an astounding $1,350.00 dollars!! All to benefit Grizzly Gulch, the Kratt Brothers Wildlife refuge! Many thanks to everyone who participated in this fundraiser!
The Kratt Club was very pleased to announce our 2011 fundraiser for the Kratt Brothers' wildlife refuge, Grizzly Gulch!! Nestled between the Northern Rocky Mountains and the high plains in Montana, Grizzly Gulch is 1,200 acres of prime habitat for the threatened and endangered grizzly bears, elk, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and other creatures who call it home.
For more than a decade the Kratt Club has supported Grizzly Gulch through fundraisers that offer Kratt Club calendars, refrigerator magnets and raffles of Kratt Brothers' memorabilia from their shows Kratts' Creatures, Zoboomafoo, and Be The Creature, raising more than $8,450!
This year the Kratt Club has raffled this colorful homemade quilt, hand-quilted by one of our Kratt Club members. The quilt block pattern specifically chosen for this fundraiser quilt is called "Bear Paw" in honor of the grizzly bears. Martin and Chris had the opportunity to see the quilt this summer and are seen here displaying it. Chris and Martin both autographed the quilt with a special fabric pen so their signatures won't fade when the quilt is washed.
The drawing was held on Thursday, December 23, 2011, the first day of winter. The winner and total funds raised were announced on our Kratt Club web site (www.TheKrattClub.com) and on our Kratt Club Facebook page. We also contacted the winner directly.
All proceeds from this raffle will go directly to the Kratt Brothers Creature Heroes Society.
